My Wardrobe Doesn’t Colour My Opinions

By Jason Menard

When it comes to clothing-related support of issues, it’s clear that words speak much louder than actions.

As my wife can attest, I have a hard enough time matching my wardrobe to itself, much less having to match it to my beliefs. So today, on the Day of Pink, I wore black and khaki (or green or beige* pants). But that doesn’t mean I don’t support the cause wholeheartedly. The Slut Walk’s Wonderful — But Only for Those Who Already March in Step

By Jason Menard

God’s Will Doesn’t Include Murder

By Jason Menard

I can come to only two conclusions today: one is that Terry Jones is a murderer; and two is that if there is a God out there, this cannot be what he wants.

That’s the only conclusion you can come to after his supervision of a Qur’an burning on March 21th led directly to today’s murder of UN staff members in Afghanistan. Continue reading

Socialist Media or Capitalist Ideology? For Both Content Rules

Consider it a classic conundrum between capitalist ideals and social(ist) media – but no matter with which side you affiliate, quality content will always rule.

I saw both sides of the spectrum today: London Free Press reporter Kate Dubinski wrote a piece about the citizen journalist which I found betrayed a more-than-a-little condescending attitude towards bloggers and the like. At the very least, she is guilty of not displaying the balance that she advocates as a benefit of the newspaper industry, painting an awfully wide swath with one brush. Continue reading
