If Public Porn Goes, then the Pulpit Should Follow

If a group of anti-porn crusaders convince the City of London that it can’t have sex, then they better make sure that religion joins it on the outside of the city limits, looking in.

On the agenda for today’s meeting of the city’s community and neighbourhoods committee is a presentation from a group that would like to see the City ban pornography industry-sponsored events from City-owned properties.

Here’s hoping this group was listened to respectfully, thanked for their opinion, and then wholeheartedly ignored. Simply put, government should in no way be making business decisions based upon someone’s sense of morality.  Continue reading

Ford Drives Home Reality that We Let Representatives Represent Only Themselves

It seems many of our elected representatives forgot what they were elected to do – represent. And, to be honest, it’s our own fault.

Child Molesting Repeat Offender Renews Call for a Karla’s Law

Every once in a while a story comes around that challenges your beliefs; in my case, they generally revolve around children. And while I’d like to think I’m a progressive-thinking young(ish) man who is tolerant of those around him, I have to say a recent story got my blood boiling.

I don’t believe in capital punishment; I don’t believe that guns have any purpose but to kill (and I don’t buy that bullshit line about how guns don’t kill people, people kill people); and I do believe that people can be rehabilitated. I’m not a violent guy, by nature. Continue reading
